@ The 2021 New Welsh Writing Awards:
Rheidol Prize for Prose with a Welsh Theme or Setting

Judge Gwen Davies, editor of New Welsh Review, is seeking
the very best fiction and non-fiction works in English between 5000-30,000 words written with a Welsh theme or setting.
1st prize: £1000, as an advance against e-publication
+ a positive critique by Cathryn Summerhayes, literary agent at Curtis Brown.
2nd prize: four night stay at Literature Wales’ Nant writers’ retreat cottage
in the grounds of Tŷ Newydd Writing Centre in Gwynedd.
3rd prize: two day writing retreat at Gladstone’s Library in Flintshire.
Top three shortlisted writers receive a year’s subscription to New Welsh Review
+ publication of an extract from their winning work in the magazine, with an associated fee.
One entry by a writer between 18 and 25 years of age,
will be considered for publication, either online or in print.
Entry: £12; limited number of free entries for writers on a low income
